It is amazing the power of a band aid in helping children improve their mental capacity for recovery.

While adults have no doubt of a child’s ability to recover from say; a scraped, skinned knee in time. The child’s perception is different; the injury is painful, freighting and almost insurmountable without the aid of a bandage!

Reflecting on our own experience of injury with the understanding of the body’s need for time to heal doesn’t make waiting less frustrating.

Developing a “band aid” solution for exercising with an injury is essential. Firstly speak with your healthcare professional on whether it is safe to return to exercise with an injury. Secondly, be mindful of your body’ injury and never exercise through pain.

Lastly, take care and take your time to heal before over stressing your body. Exercise is vital in maintaining the body’s health, however healing from injury is critical in preventing further more serious injury.
