Body awareness as a concept is subjective; it could mean ones physical appearance or perhaps ones emotional evaluation of their body. Here at Square Box Fitness we are asking you to be aware of your body moving through exercise and challenging your proprioception.

Proprioception is the ability to sense the position of the body in space, and involves conscious sensations (muscle sense), postural equilibrium, and joint stability. It is body awareness that enable balance when exercising.  

It is easy in our busy life, to assume that our body is able to maintain its fitness and strength indefinitely. However, unless we challenge our body’s physical function we will find, in time, we lose confidence in our body’s ability to serve us well in our daily lives
.
Therefore without exercise our body is conditioned for immobility. Exercise brings awareness to our body’s current physical fitness, it is only when we become aware of our fitness levels can we proceed to do what is necessary to live our life with health and WELLth.
