Fear of missing out is driving our inaction in fitness. Many have become stunned by the news headlights of what we are “supposed” to do with our health. I’m here to let you know my program in Fitness WELLth is simple; all you need to do is take these three actions in your life:

  1. Daily exercise
  2. Daily wholefood nutrition
  3. Weekly planning

I am always troubled by those who look to others to “fix” their health and fitness problems because it is impossible to eat or exercise for someone else. The reward for what we eat and how we experience our life is ours to enjoy, without exception.

Knowing we have what it takes to become the force behind our health and fitness is empowering. Then, all that’s needed is a plan to action, taking you from where you are now to where you can be with your health.

We at Square Box Fitness can and will put together a result-driven health and fitness plan for your action. Then it’s up to you: Will you take action? Or not?

Cigarettes, budgets and forecasts

Let me tell you a story of when I was building financial action plans for multinational companies; it was so long ago that smoking was normal, much like coffee is today.

Anyway, I worked with many sales executives who were clueless when it came to finance and forecasts. They often became hostile for the “waste of time” it took to plan….Often lamenting they could be out there making sales! Within an hour, I had my executives turned into financial experts in their business – How?

Easy…they knew their business so well that all I had to do was identify the key drivers and weakness. Together we noted them and put them on the back of their cigarette pack. The financial intentions were then set and visible. This small shift in mindset drove their business with improved tangible and measurable results.

Thereon, we moved from cigarette packs to spreadsheets, to full-on complex forecasts. At each month-end, I met the excitement of positive financial review discussions.

The power of sticky notes

Who was to know that years later, I would be returning to this same sticky note planning strategy in health, but this time, on the back of a smartphone!

Humans today know infinitely more about the human condition. There may be disagreement in the cause and effect of health treatments, but all professional health care practitioners will agree; daily exercise is fundamental.

You, know you, better than anyone. It makes sense for you to take charge of what drives you and where you fall short in fitness.

If lack of exercise is your problem, then 9 minutes of daily exercise is a great start  in moving you towards your better health. Here’s how:

Write on a sticky note: “Exercise: 9 minutes” attach it to your phone and only remove it when it’s DONE!
