I LOVE New Year’s resolutions because they allow me to assess where I’m at in my life and what I would like to change. A resolution that begins a new decade must then be special – right?

Happy 2020!

It’s been exciting to hear everyone’s story of their decade in review and I feel compelled to join in. On reflection, I realized something: This decade is truly a big a deal because it’s the first decade that our memories will be mainly recorded on digital media.

Digital media and I are not friends; something always seems to go wrong. Just recently my 2019 memories were wiped from the face of the earth by my family playing with my phone on the trip home from our family Christmas… Ahhh!

…and where are my memories of a decade ago? ……Perhaps still in the camera on film I never finished or got developed….Nevertheless capturing the moment is important to me; however, I believe living in the moment is essential for a quality of life worth remembering.

It’s a New Beginning

When a new year begins with a resolution to lose weight and get fit it’s doomed to fail. A journey to good health cannot start with shame and regret; it must begin with a celebration of a life well-lived. Honoring our body for its gift of life is the only way to make a successful New Year’s resolution in health and fitness.

I know for sure that a selfie in time does not capture my innermost thoughts and feelings. I don’t feel my age as 10 years older, on the contrary, today I feel stronger and healthier than my decade younger self.

I’m grateful to have found exercise later in life, particularly strength training, because it has made THE difference to my well being. I also know it will make a difference in your well being too.

Wherever you have taken your body through your life so far, you owe it to yourself to now take it towards good health with regular daily exercise.

If you haven’t already joined my 2020 breakthrough challenge it’s time start now. I have the link below for you.
