Tonight marks the 10 year Anniversary of Earth Hour.

Earth Hour is important to me because it gives me the opportunity in a small way to connect to the world with a shared belief that our environment is vital for our good health and the future health of our children.

Earth Hour began in Sydney, Australia,  in 2007 and is now celebrated in 172 countries and over 7,000 cities and towns worldwide.

Join the world tonight and turn the lights off for an hour in support of our enviroment.   Lights off in Sydney is at 8.30 pm.

I leave you this week with a photo of my daughters a few years ago meditating for world peace during Earth Hour and a thought by Fr. Jame Keller who wrote:

“A candle loses nothing by lighting another candle.”

If you would like to post your Earth Hour photos on our Facebook page tonight  I will be delighted to see them!
